Skin can be very unpredictable this time of year as we transition from cold weather to warm. Like the rest of the body and mind, balance is key, our skin reflects what is going on inside of us. Diet, stress, product sensitivites, and the change in seasons can create an imbalance that leaves skin looking and feeling dry, dull, or irritated. Here are a some easy things you can do to keep your skin in top shape year 'round.
Turn over the top layer of skin, which is just dead skin cells, with weekly exfoliation to ensure your moisturizers are able to soak in. Look for natural and gentle exfoliants like clay, seeds, and milk based cleanser. My Pure & Gentle Goats Milk Soap is an excellent facial bar. And my Salt Scrub Bars used from neck to toes will get the job done.
Switch to oil:
Have you gotten yourself on the oil train yet? Plant oils are naturally high in fatty acid, plump up skin cells and deeply nourish. Jojoba oil which is actually a liquid was and it mimics the skin's own natural oil production is the backbone of my Nourishing Body Oil and my Pure LUXE Facial Oil has been getting rave reviews for years.
Be kind to yourself:
Remeber, your skin is a reflection of what's going on inside of your body. So make sure you are getting plenty of sleep, drinking plenty of water, are eating well, and slowing down enough to take some time for yourself.
