The goal and focus of Whole 30 is not suppose to be about losing weight, it's about learning to listen to your body's likes and dislikes, eating whole healthy food, and feeling great. But, for me, weight loss is one of the main reasons I'm doing this round. With the lost two rounds, I lost between 8-11 lbs in 30 days. I want to lose 10 lbs. for health reasons, but the non-scal victories will be most welcome. I am looking forward to feeling my very best again and getting off of gluten and refined sugar is the ticket.
Non-Scale Victories (NSV) is the term Whole 30 uses to put a name to things that are the result of being on Whole 30. Things that are more important than weight loss. Here's their list of NSV. Take a peek, and if you're still on the fence about whether or not Whole 30 is for you, the NSV may help you decide.
My NSV since starting this Whole 30 include:
- less bloated
- my complexion is clearing
- I am waaaay less moody
- I wake up with a lot of energy
- the sugar cravings are subsiding
- less joint pains
Check-In: I woke up feeling full of energy! I'm still sleeping a lot, more than 8 hours a night, but evidentally my body needs it.
